Tom Hanks, Hanx Writer Typerwriter app, a Hologram for the King, Tom Twyker, Dave Eggers and the 2008 beheading of Madame Tussaud's Wax Hitler

WHEN IT CAME OUT I read the Dave Eggers book A HOLOGRAM FOR THE KING and greatly enjoyed watching Tom Hanks take on the role of the main character in the recent Tom Twyker film of the same name, (EIN HOLOGRAMM FÜR DEN KÖNIG).
But on the day to day I really enjoy the HANX WRITER app paired with a bluetooth keyboard. I sit in my Berlin studio and trow text into the thing just for the joy of how it looks (and then sometimes even print and mail it on paper) - for typewriter lovers this is a very satisfying 21st century option.
NOTE: the text is some long-abandoned scrap from 2008 I found in my google drive about Slawinchen on Schönleinstrasse - a notorious local 24 hour bar in Berlin - which we had (and have) ended up at on and off in the wee hours of the morning... for me it recalls a tiny sliver of a particularly vibrant and totally magical time and place - Kreuzberg in 2008 - and also mentions the infamous beheading of Madam Tussaud's Wax Hitler (true story) which was concieved and carried out by a former police officer in a drunken state.

Why did Madame Tussaud's think it was ever OK to have a wax Hitler in the first place? Keine ahnung!
