An article I read earlier this week regarding the deaths of 3 German soldiers in a suicide bombing at a market in Afganistan ended with "Germans seem to have the least amount of tolerance for their own troop casualties" and as far as i know they are now planning to pull out of Afganistan altogether.
In the time between I posted earlier and am writing this now, they actually recovered what is believed to be the bodies of one of the U.S. Soldiers listed below... and the Democrats have now backed down from their provision in the new Iraq budget that calls for a withdrawal date... I really try not to think
about the Americna Occupation of Iraq too much, but today it just floored me. Why are we not outraged and pulling out after over 3,600 American casualties?
I also tried to imagine the real heart of the problem... but couldn't really. Vague conclusions and theories...

I know. Someone goes crazy with a gun at Virginia Tech and there is anguish and soul searching, and meanwhile a friend in Iraq says they find 40 bodies in the street every day, most showing signs of torture -- so what's the deal, if you put a 20-year-old in a uniform suddenly these horrors don't count? A gunman is on the loose at Virginia Tech and everyone blames the authorities for not instantly evacuating the students, but if there is are gunmen and suicide bombers and kidnappings on a permanent basis and George W. Bush has all the time in the wooooooooorld that doesn't count.
