ceramic kingdom berlin 3D Clay Printing program NOTES

 ceramic kingdom berlin

I started a little website for our 3D Clay Printing Program at ceramic kingdom:

https://ck3d.art/

But I also wanted to collect some outstanding notes and photos in the ol'm blog here:

ROUGH NOTES on the STEPS:

I add water and let it sit for 5 days in a dedicated (new) paint bucket

(which I bought new from the hardware store)

We have 10 L and 15 L sizes - not sure which is 'better', but it is nice to have room for the...

CONCRERTE MIXER!

Using a concrete mixer I add a bit more water and mix thouroughly... be sure little bits ofn non-clay don't get into the mix! Fore example I like to mix out in the courtyard but sometimes tree bits fall into the fresh clay:(((

be sure to take a spatula and slam/smooth the clay outr as you pack your cylinders... I always duct tape and label them with the date and recipe...

always take into accoun that 3D clay has MORE water therefore MORE shrinkage than even average clay we use at the studio...

3D Print Clay.

MAKE NOTE of models and files that work.
(Our printer saves everything, so you might end up with dozens or even hundereds of unlabelled files called "vase"...
