Post Titled: True correspondence this morning

From: Al Gore
To: Me
Subject: Stand with me in Bali.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

From: ME
To: Al Gore

Mr Gore,
I will be happy to stand with you in Bali if you buy me a plane ticket.

Conclusion:
fuckit, Iäm not voting this election. Leave it to the dogs. What do I care, I#m in Berlin?

OTHER:
Ripped from an ongoing online conversation regarding Facebook's Beacon eff-up:
"Q: What do the core group of users - teenagers and college kids - think? Do they care? Do they even know this is
happening? I haven't heard anything about that yet.

A: They're too busy tagging themselves and their friends in photos and sending hugs, pokes, and zombie attacks to each other to notice. "

aren't we all?---

Dude, I actually heard a clip of H Rodham Clinton this morning saying, "During that difficult time in my life [id est, when my husband was shoving Cohibas up a woman that looked like a loveseat], prayer was my strength, my rock, and I had MY PRAYER WARRIORS PRAYING FOR ME NONSTOP." (uppercased outrage mine) I mean....! And Obama too, falling all over himself to talk about how he's accepted Jesus into his heart. I thought only children and Republicans talked about this slop.

Lookit: Do yourself a favor and stay in Berlin and don't participate in this insanity known as the American electoral process. After listening to all this slobber about Jesus, people talking about what size hat God wears, etc, I really envy your life in a country of total nihilists. (You mentioned Crimes & Misdemeanors the other day and I'm realizing I sound just like von Sydow's character.... By the way, you have to see von Sydow in Hamsun: just awesome.)

Have you seen Lions for Lambs? And if so, then what.
If not, then see it, not because it's the most extraordinary film of the century, because it's definitely not the most extraordinary film, but, so, you know, I can continue this discussion with you.

I haven't seen Lions for lambs, but I did see a poster for it last night, which in german read somthing like:
Why are you alife?
What do you stand for?
What do you fight For?
(Wofur kämpfst du?)
and one other thing, mind you thr three faces staring back at me on the poster were Cruise, Redford, and Meryl Streep... indeed
I really wondered... well, why those people were on teh poster, well... why I was standing there staring at them adn the words on the poster... uhm, them I moved on and tried to forget about US foreign policy totally ...

It's terrible. It was like that time I watched the movie about the guy who tries to make friends with the bears and gets eaten by one. Lions for Lambs is like watching hollywood try to make friends with american politics and, instead getting eaten, it shits all over the audience.
