when I first found out that Heath Ledger would be playing the Joker I posted this image (official poster), but now looking at it again it is actually a far cry from his final aesthetic appearance in the The Dark Knight- just a thought...

Wow, is that Ledger? It doesn't look like him. I'm glad they went with the aesthetic they did. This reminds me of The Crow.

"Wow, is that Ledger?"
-that is the question, really...indeed, this appears to be a poster... I need to find the source again... it just seems wierd that they would change his appearance that much from then until filming...
Oh, there is also the elusive video i found of him apparently breaking out of Arkham Asylum, -same issue there!!! that scene wasn't in the movie-! Validation of internet information... ohjeh,

Isn't that that old skoo German actor, Conrad Veidt. (Now I sound like a Jeopardy contestant)...

He was a basis for the original comic book Joker. Incidentally, the dude who came up with the Joker also came up with Robin. 1 out of 2 isn't bad though

Indeed, mystery solved- thanks Dan, it IS a very careful photoshopping of Conrad Veidt into Joker. "Christopher Nolan et al mentioned him at a conference about the Dark Knight.
