DON'T PANIC!
A few months ago, after hearing Brian Cox's commentary track on Sunshine, I had posted about the paricle accelerator (Large Hadron Collider (L.H.C.)) on the French-Swiss border. So I gotta kick out of THIS: "A suit filed in District Court in Hawaii demands that the U.S. halt construction of the Large Hadron Collider (L.H.C.), the $8-billion particle accelerator on the Franco-Swiss border, on the grounds that it could cause the destruction of the earth, the solar system, or the universe."
There were also some mumblings along these lines when scientists made antimatter- but apparently it did not cause a chain reaction which would undo/undid all the matter-matter... (apparently.WHEW!)
So, ja, may or may not be a reason, oh- but if you post something like this you should probably panic.
